New Philadelphia: STRICT ACTIONS OF EL.AS. For the match between AEK and Dinamo Zagreb, they led the authorities to 3 arrests
The Greek police classified the match between AEK and Dinamo Zagreb as serious and through strict measures and searches, they managed to achieve three arrests outside the OPAP Arena in New Philadelphia.
In particular, according to ERT, a 17-year-old boy was arrested for possession of a sharp object at the intersection of Cappadocia and Antalya streets. Also, while one youth was arrested with tobacco and one with drugs, two people were arrested. One of them took place in Ionias Street, where a young man who was considered suspicious was brought, but nothing came of him, and he was released.
Since noon New Philadelphia has looked like a “lobster,” with thousands of police officers patrolling the perimeter of the stadium on foot or in EL AS vehicles. And to control the entrance of thousands of fans, they are expected to approach the OPAP arena.
More than a thousand police officers are stationed in and outside the stadium in the greater New Philadelphia area for the safety of fans and teams, while plainclothes police officers are stationed among passengers on public transportation.
Access to the AEK stadium from Chrysostomov Smyrni and Cappadocia streets is blocked by security rails that act as checkpoints for those approaching the OPAP arena.
