Nikos Antoniadis died and drowned Greek volleyball in mourning

One of the best players in Greek history volleyballNikos Antoniadis Passed away At the age of 74 Greek sports were plunged into mourning.

Captain Heracles for many years and an international player with the Greek national team, Antoniadis honored the sport and the Greek Volleyball Federation bid him farewell with an official statement of condolences.

Another big loss for Greek volleyball, as Nikos Antoniadis “died” on Sunday 9 October.

Two days after the loss of Dimitris Gidatzis, his former teammate passed away, bringing grief to the volleyball world.

At the age of 74, the great glory of Greek volleyball – and for many the best striker ever – and the first Greek athlete to move abroad (from Heracles to Racing Paris), lost the great “battle”.

Nikos Antoniadis was the leading Greek volleyball player at the time, he started volleyball from the sixth high school in Thessaloniki with the late teacher Xenophon Kalogeropoulos to become the captain of Heracles and the national team.

He was a member of the “Blue and White” team from 1967 to 1978 and participated in more than 200 matches. In France, he won three championships in 1976, 1977 and 1978.

He left behind his wife and two children. 37-year-old Alexander and 31-year-old Aristotle. A graduate of EASA (formerly TEFAA) and a graduate of INSEP (Higher Training in France) and the Universities of Nanterre, René De Cartes, Saint-Denis and Geneva in Social Studies.

He was a lecturer in physical education and sports psychology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He wrote books as aids to the university.
