Nikos Karagiorgis is the new president of the Greek Actors Union – Spiros Pypilas defeated

Nikos Karagiorgis is now the new president of the Greek Actors Association.

A few days ago, elections were held in the Union of Greek Actors, and after the end of Spyros Pybila’s term, Nikos Karagiorgis became the new president. He himself announced, through a post on his personal account on the social networking site, that he was assuming his new duties.

In fact, he mentioned in his post, among other things, that his priority will be to deal with the difficult tasks that will face him from now on. “Change of page in the Association of Greek Actors today. Electing a new presidency and I hope that from my position as President of SEH I will respond to the difficult tasks,” he initially wrote in his post.

“We have a difficult but beautiful path ahead of us. The path of fighting for the dignity of our work, which we love so much.”

Bibilas for the SEH elections: “It is a shame for them not to respect what came out”

In the union elections, a total of 1,127 registered members went to the polls and cast their votes. The Democratic Union of Independent Representatives received 367 votes from 118 candidates, including Nikos Karagegiorgis, while the Competitive Union of Independent Representatives received 311 votes from 45 candidates, including Spyros Bibilas.

Speaking about the result of the SEH elections, Spyros Pypilas commented on Nikos Karagiorgis’ move to declare his election himself and criticized his colleagues who did not go to vote.

«Nikos Karagiorgis came forward and announced this before the board process was completed because we had not made an official announcement. He announced it himself. Naturally, he became president of the Union of Greek Actors based on the balance of power that resulted from these elections. This election showed us a very big message, which is what is happening in Greek society. “Apathy and lack of participation in what everyone should participate in,” the actor said at the beginning.

But he then blamed those who did not go to vote, stressing that “Is it possible for everyone to abstain from everywhere and then not like the result?».

“That’s why I’m upset! But shame on them for not respecting what came out because they didn’t come to vote. And yet I came out first among all the marshals. Anyway, I couldn’t become president because I had already served two two-year terms, and our constitution prohibits Even if I get first place in the votes, I do not need to advise Nikos Karagiorgis, as he is a valuable colleague with great experience in union affairs.”
