Not even an apology to the “buried woman” from SYRIZA?

Not even an apology to the “buried woman” from SYRIZA?

Twelve months ago, the story of migrants stranded on an island outside the Evros fence created an anti-government and anti-Greek atmosphere I can’t remember like. A view fully embraced by Syriza in the context of its toxic and hostile campaign.

The script is based on the death of a woman from a scorpion bite and the mother’s attempt to avoid the decomposition of the lifeless body by drowning her dead child in the waters of Evros. NGO representatives, journalists, refugee rescuers and internet journalists raised the issue, which caused emotion, anger, anger and tension. They even named the dead woman. They named it Maria, using the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

It didn’t take long for the whole situation to turn into a false smear on the new democratic government abroad and on Greece abroad.

A few months later, Spiegel magazine published detailed reports on the subject of “Unburied Mary”, first tentatively and then definitively retracting the reports. And because it cannot attest to what appears to be true. The unifying role of a German woman of Turkish origin is revealed in the entire false narrative. The fantasy scenario ended in disaster.

It’s been 12 months since then. From the circle of scriptwriters, we expect no apology at all. Some of them live in NGOs. Others make their mark by engaging in similar stories. Still others live for the number of “likes” they collect and the social influence they hope to achieve.

But from Syriza?

We expected an apology from SYRIZA. Because even after Spiegel admitted wrongdoing, the former SYRIZA president continued to criticize and defame the government. Even in the European Parliament, Syriza vilified Greece. Are we expecting too much from a party that is so habitual of lying?

SYRIZA’s candidate leaders Efi Ahtsioglou and Euclid Tsakalotos, to their credit, neither accept nor accept the toxic spectacle of the incomprehensible Maria.
