Panagiotis Ritsos:Since last year's exit, to the current main stopper on the roster. Panagiotis Ritsos has improved a lot since the start of the season and is a constant presence at centre-back. A footballer who has had some good matches but lacks consistency in his performances. He made 22 appearances in all competitions with one goal during his return to the Greek national team, where he impressed against France.
Rating: Towards a positive sign
Jackson Burroso: He came from… from nowhere to the starting lineup of Olympiacos. Jackson Borusso was the investment of the summer with the signing of Cordon and Martinez opted to ease him slowly into the air. But Freire's injury and Douy's suspension in the match with Baxka Topola emptied the “reservoir” of goalkeepers on the roster to be next to Rizzo. So, against West Ham, the international defender came on for Ecuador in the eleventh round. His presence was very positive in that match, but his appearance in the heavy defeat against PAOK (4-2) and the injury at home to West Ham excluded him completely. In total he has nine matches and 490 minutes.
Rating: Towards a positive sign
Nicolas Freire: Although he came to Olympiacos with excellent recommendations from Mexico, Nicolas Freire has been suffering for the past two months (1/10 in the last match) from an injury that has kept him completely out of action. The problem with the Argentine goalkeeper is that throughout his playing time, he did not particularly attract attention. He played in nine matches in all competitions as Olympiacos conceded seven goals and overall, although he was brought in to offer his experience in defence, he did not live up to what he heard about him.
Rating: negative sign
Andreas Doy: It's a project they really believe in at Olympiacos. He has shown his talent since last year, and this year, although he started on the bench, he seized the opportunity when Freire was injured. He has so far scored 16 matches in all competitions and is showing signs of improvement both in the way he handles the ball and when the team is defending, but like Ritsos, he does not show the necessary stability in a position full of responsibility.
Rating: Towards a positive sign
Julian BianconeThe injury he suffered last year was enough to keep him away from Nottingham Forest for a while. He was signed last summer by Olympiacos and slowly started to find his groove and as a result he got minutes with the second team and then with the first team, making three appearances and winning a penalty (against Volos). It shows good data, there is room for improvement but it is too early to judge.
