Miami officials say an early-morning shooting at a building on Miami Beach has killed at least one person.
According to the media CBSMiamiThe incident occurred at about 1:00 a.m. in an apartment located at the intersection of 8th Street and Jefferson Avenue.
Police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said several officers arrived at the scene and found one person seriously injured following calls condemning the gunfire.
The subject was immediately transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital, but he died shortly after due to the severity of the injuries.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased; However, they said they have launched an investigation to find out the motives behind someone committing such a crime.
According to Rodríguez, detectives are already analyzing the crime scene, and he urged the community to contact the police if there is any information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible.
