OnePlus 12 Review – Review

OnePlus has always strived to deliver premium experiences and hardware, comparable to the flagship in every way except cost.

With the OnePlus 12, the company follows the same tactic and integrates many elements that belong to “top-shelf” smartphones, whether it is the camera or the set of functions. We had the chance to test the device for a little while, so here's our experience with it.

From the previous model to the new model, the external changes are not major but some are obvious. The main thing has to do with the back material, which instead of being glossy is now patterned (in the black version) so that it stays more firmly in the hand, while not catching fingers easily. The green version is more impressive, but the glossy back slides and fingers show. There's nothing good or bad here, just a taste, and since the phone will actually be in condition from day one, that doesn't matter much to us. The important thing here is the presence of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both cases, providing durability to the overall structure.

With dimensions of 16.43 x 7.58 x 0.92 cm, the OnePlus 12 is slightly longer than a regular smartphone in these proportions, so it is easier to “roll” it with one hand and hold it securely. This is also helped by the slight curvature on the sides of the screen, which makes the hand embrace the device in a natural way.

On the back, the large camera piece will undoubtedly catch the eye. A large but thin circular notch houses the three camera lenses. Although it appears to be the same layout as the previous model, the colors blend better with the back of the device, which we see in the streamlined emerald (green) colour. So, yes, the back third is dedicated to the camera, but it blends in with the color. Other than that, the back only has the OnePlus logo in the middle and nothing else.
