The new mid-range model now features a 6.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2772 x 1240 resolution, which is a big upgrade over its predecessor’s 6.4-inch/90Hz 1080p panel. It also has support for fast wired charging at 80W, which, according to the company, can complete a 60% charge in 15 minutes.
The OnePlus Nord 3 also switches to a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC (versus the 2T’s Dimensity 1300) which packs up to 16GB of RAM instead of the previous model’s 12GB. The battery is also larger, at 5,000mAh versus 4,500mAh. The device’s 50MP primary camera is the same as that of the high-end OnePlus 11, which makes a difference to which budget segment the device belongs to. In the main camera system we still find an 8MP ultra wide angle camera and a 2MP macro sensor while the selfie camera has a resolution of 16MP.
Another important difference that Nord 3 brings compared to its predecessors is software support. OnePlus is now three years away from major Android updates for the Nord 3 compared to just two years the company was offering for the Nord 2T. You will also get four years of security patch updates as in most cases.
OnePlus is accepting pre-orders for the Nord 3 today, starting at €449 for the model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. At a cost of €549, the model is available with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. However, at the moment it is ready to reach only 16 countries in the European Union, including Greece. It is also expected to be launched in key markets such as India. Unsurprisingly, OnePlus won’t release the phone in the US (the company only offers the entry-level Nord N series in the US), but neither will the UK.
