The new electronic service, which does not require additional supporting documents for the majority of beneficiaries, relieves – from bureaucratic procedures and the duty to approach the agency’s local services – tens of thousands of interested parties, who visit e-EFKA every year for a specific transaction. For example, more than 14,000 insured people came to e-EFKA services for the eight months from January to August 2023 to apply for one-time grants (excluding state).
For cases in which – based on the provisions – supporting documents are requested, they are specified in the application form and are sent electronically only to the electronic address (e-mail) indicated on the same form. If necessary, the relevant service body will contact the applicant on a case-by-case basis, to obtain any additional information required.
In the coming time period, other previous sectors not covered by the new service will be included in the above procedure.
For example, more than 14,000 insured people came to e-EFKA services for the eight months from January to August 2023 to apply for one-time grants (excluding state). Currently, there are 10,000 outstanding, of which 4,500 are frozen due to debts owed to the public.
For cases in which – based on the provisions – supporting documents are requested, they are specified in the application form and are sent electronically only to the electronic address (e-mail) indicated on the same form. If necessary, the relevant service body will contact the applicant on a case-by-case basis, to obtain any additional information required.
It was confirmed that the lump sums paid were “deducted”. This is because the Catrogallo Law changed the method of calculating the lump sum (public and private sector), with the reduction reaching 23%.
The lump sum is reduced for retirement years ending from 1/1/2014 onwards, since according to Law No. 4387/2016 (Catrougalo Law), contributions paid from 2014 onwards to public and private welfare funds are not subject to reciprocity.
With the change in calculation, an employee who retires in 2022 at age 35 will receive two lump sums in the following amounts:
The first part of the lump sum will be for the years up to 2013, and will be calculated at 60% of the average monthly income for the five years 2009-2013, over the insurance years up to 2013.
The second part of the lump sum will be the return of the contributions he paid from 2014 to 2022, without interest.

- €39,339 for retired employees and private payroll operators.
