Today, Ukrainian intelligence services released horrific photos from the scene of the assassination of Ilya Keiva, a “traitor” and former Kiev MP who was allegedly “Putin’s puppet.”
Kiva (46 years old) was killed last week while he was on a walk in Moscow.
Pictures that emerged show his body lying in the snow and the weapons used to kill him hanging from a nearby tree.
The Ukrainian intelligence service explained that the photos and footage were deliberately published as a warning to other Ukrainians working with Vladimir Putin’s forces.
A source said: “This is a message to all traitors and war criminals who sided with the enemy. Remember, Russia will not protect you. As the head of the Ukrainian Security Service, Vasily Malyuk, pointed out earlier, death is the only possibility that awaits Ukraine’s enemies.
A video, taken by the alleged killer at the scene shortly before the shooting, shows him waiting in the snow and trees for a man to pass by.
Kiva was a former police officer and government official, and led the Socialist Party in the Ukrainian parliament from 2017-2019.
In 2019, he was a candidate for the presidency of Ukraine, but then turned to Russia. He asked Putin for political asylum and a Russian passport.
Earlier this year, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison for high treason in a trial held in absentia, as Kiva had already fled to live in Russia.
Hours before his death, Kiva predicted in his last social media post that a defeated Volodymyr Zelensky would be forced to flee to Britain.
He added: “Zelensky’s only option is to flee to England, but even there he will be extradited if it is in the interests of the crown or die if necessary for the sake of the Kremlin.”
