Pierce Brosnan’s new movie – he’s truly unrecognizable as a 92-year-old World War II veteran

Pierce Brosnan is almost unrecognizable in his new role as veteran Artie Crawford in Sky Cinema’s The Last Rifleman.

The 70-year-old actor was transformed into 92-year-old Artie using prosthetics, including a fluffy gray wig.

Pierce Brosnan, wearing a suit decorated with his war medals, looks like a true gentleman as he leans on a cane.

New Pierce Brosnan movie

Pierce Brosnan plays Artie, a World War II veteran, in the £12 million film, which is based on the true story of Bernard Jordan.

The teaser reads: “@piercebrosnanofficial as Artie, a 92-year-old WWII veteran in The Last Rifleman, will make you believe in humanity again ❤️.”

Royal Navy First Lieutenant Jordan escaped from a nursing home in 2014 at the age of 89 to attend the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings.

He told care home staff he was “going to the shops” but instead headed to Brighton train station before taking a train to Portsmouth and then a ferry to Caen. He was able to attend events with hundreds of other veterans to remember those who lost their lives.

Meanwhile, a search and rescue operation was launched in the English Channel to locate him. His exploits appeared on the front page of the Mail at the time and earned him the nickname “The Great Fugitive.”

He later said of his escape: “My thoughts were with my fallen comrades. “I would pay my respects.”

He added: “In the months leading up to the anniversary, I was trying to make a trip to Normandy, but I didn’t have the necessary equipment. Then the day before Normandy Day, I saw all the TV coverage and thought: ‘I have to go and get involved in this.’ I was naughty and secretive.” .

Bernard Jourdan finally died in January 2015 – and just a week later his childhood sweetheart, Irene, died. They left their entire £600,000 fortune to charity as they had no children.

Jordan’s story received a lot of attention this year, with Michael Caine playing Jordan in the ITV series The Great Escaper.

Inspired by true events, the film is written by Kevin Fitzpatrick and directed by Thierry Loane. The Last Rifleman stars Harry Potter actress Clemence Poésy, German actor Jürgen Prochnau, John Amos, Derry Girls’ Claire Rafferty, and Normal People’s Desmond Eastwood.

The Last Rifleman is expected to be released this year, although an official date has not yet been confirmed.
