Pop star rap Post Malone is back in the mainstream with the announcement of his fourth album Twelve carat toothache. The album has been in production for at least two years, considering how Malone has referred to it since its 2020 live stream, but we now have an official release date.

We’ve also been given a list of collaborators that will appear on the new album. Those names include Doja Cat, Roddy Ricch, and The Kid Laroi, three major names in the pop/hip hop scene. But another musician to appear on the album is more offbeat: folk hero Robin Beckenold, lead singer and songwriter for Fleet Foxes.

Malone has reviewed his collaboration with Pecknold on his social media, including posting snippets of the song on Instagram Live and TikTok. Pecknold provides harmonies for “A Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol,” adding a high note to Malone’s signature sound. During the preview, Mallon referred to Pecknold as “the coolest fucking guy.”

For anyone who has followed Malone’s personal tastes, collaborating with a musician with a heavy voice should come as no surprise. well known Malone Bigot Bob Dylan, covering “Don’t Think Twice, It’s OK” during his early career. Malone also recently did covered johnny cash With bluegrass doped Billy Strings, so Pecknold appears to be the logical next step.

Twelve carat toothache It will be Malone’s first new album since 2019 hollywood bleeding, which appeared first in the US “Circles”. This track, in particular, showed Malone’s softer, more country-infused side, so maybe Twelve carat toothache It will shape up to be something in the same vein. We won’t have to wait long to find out, as the album is set to drop in the summer.
