After all are we just…for festivals????
We’re in the heart of summer, with August being Ruston and the month of festivals. To be precise, this summer we’re living, quite literally, in a… constellation of festivals.
Dozens of festivals on every corner of Phthiotida, with thousands of participants, fun, dancing and … Greetings, endless greetings!
Even if no one knows that we have municipal elections in October, all they have to do is go to any festival. Where he will meet not only the traditional orchestra, friends, relatives, acquaintances or fellow villagers, but also many, many candidates who hold their card at the first request.
Candidates for membership of regional, municipal or local councils rush from one village to another to show their support for the associations, take pictures with the residents and announce their presence through social networks, where the battle of the cross has already begun.
We recognize and understand the effort and anguish of the self-governing candidates to visit as many of their municipality communities as possible, in the short time remaining until the election, and announce their disembarkation at the October election. But our country does not need greeting cards and nomination cards. Our country needs new proposals and ideas. And worthy and capable people are rolling up their sleeves and making their pre-election promises a reality.
We must remember our villages, our associations, and our people throughout the year and support them in every way, not only when establishing polling stations and having festivals….
Because this is how we show who we are… to festivals!!!
