Delving into the details, reporter Tom Henderson, who is behind most of the information we know so far, is back with a new report. Specifically, he obtained an official document from Sony explaining to developers what requirements a game must meet to get the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” tag.
Just as it happened in the previous generation with the PS4 Pro, so with the PS5 Pro, the games that will be upgraded will carry this indicator. For his new console, PlayStation requires at least one dedicated graphics mode that combines:
- PSSR upscaling technology 4K resolution.
- Constant 60FPS.
- Add or improve Ray tracing impact.
Meanwhile, games will also be able to get the rating if they offer any of the following:
- Increased target resolution for titles that have a fixed resolution on the standard console.
- Increased target resolution for variable resolution titles on the standard console.
- Increased target frame rate on titles that target a fixed frame rate on the standard console.
- PS5 Pro Raytracing effect included.
Compared to the regular PlayStation 5, the Pro model will have 28% faster RAM and a 45% faster GPU. Thanks to these upgraded technical specifications, developers will easily be able to deliver these improvements, which is why Sony requires them.
