Caricom warns that if there are exceptions it will not go to the US summit
The organization describes the participation of community members in the June 2022 appointment as worthy of the position of the Caribbean community expressed by Ronald Sanders, Ambassador of the United States (US) to Antigua and Barbuda.
“During international political crises, as a result of the Ukrainian crisis and the deepening social impact of the epidemic, there is no point in leaving the country looking for ways of international cooperation on the agenda of the meeting. They are suffering from this reality,” the statement said.
On the other hand, the Puebla Group urged regional countries governed by progressive projects to accept the gesture of solidarity expressed by the Caribbean countries.
“We do not want Latin America and the Caribbean, and it should be formalized at an elected summit governed by the United States,” the federation said in its official letter.
Ronald Sanders, Ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda to the United States, said last week that if Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua had not attended the US summit, Caricom would not have.
