Russian Ambassador to Venezuela Sergei Melik-Bagtasarov
Caracas, March 13 (RHC) Russia’s ambassador to Venezuela Sergei Melik-Bagdasarov has underscored the failure of US hostility toward the South American nation, signaling new signs of good relations between the two countries.
In an interview with Culture Minister Ernesto Villagas, he stressed that the recent visit of a US government delegation to Caracas by Russian diplomat acknowledges the legitimate policies of Venezuelan officials and regime change.
“This approach they now propose to buy oil – in other topics of discussion – (…) is proof of what they have now learned. Here is a government with the constitutional President Nicolas Maduro,” the Moscow representative stressed.
In this regard, the Ambassador reiterated his support for the dialogue process between all political sectors of the South American country and reaffirmed Russia’s position in support of the normalization of relations between the United States and Venezuela on the basis of mutual respect.
Similarly, Mélik-Bagdasárov acknowledged the support and solidarity of the Venezuelan authorities, and noted the strength of bilateral relations and the issues on the world agenda of the points of agreement between Moscow and Caracas.
The ambassador said his country would make progress in strengthening cooperative relations with other strategic partners in the world, while applying US hegemonic pretensions and hundreds of punitive measures.
The Venezuelan government has repeatedly expressed its support for Russia in the face of threats to the security of the Eurasian nation as the war-torn states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization sharpen and its expansion in Eastern Europe. (Source: PL)
