In a post on social media, Rama announced that he was considering the visit to Greece as an unofficial visit with the Foreign Ministry and was therefore not scheduled to meet the Prime Minister.
Edi Rama’s request to speak at the Peace and Friendship Forum on Sunday was not expected to send only peaceful and friendly messages to the Greek side since he wanted to come before the European elections and when the Peleri affair opened up. Another Greek-Albanian relationship.
In a post on social media, Rama announced that he will be traveling to Greece with the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is considered an unofficial visit and is therefore not scheduled to meet the prime minister.
“With love to you in Greece. “We start on May 12th from Athens a “spring trip” for the diaspora, where it will be a great pleasure to meet,” he wrote characteristically.
His call was made on social media in a video adorned with a traditional Albanian song that talks about the beautiful and sweet Albania. The video shows images of an eagle passing over the Acropolis of Athens and Rama meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Alexis Tsipras.
His planned visit comes in an unfavorable environment for bilateral Greek-Albanian relations, with Heimara’s elected mayor, Freddie Bellary, accused of vote-buying. Complicating matters further is the fact that Beleris was a candidate for MEP and had a diplomatic background handled by the Deputy Foreign Minister.
Alexandra Papadopoulos. Albania’s prime minister unofficially announced his intention to visit Athens through his secret ally, Edri Fuga, who regularly visits Athens and has open communication with ND and Syriza officials and visited Greece and a few days ago. He had also sent something related to it
A request to the in-charge of Kalatsi Olympic Stadium, which is run by a private person, the Mayor of the area immediately informs the Ministry of External Affairs how to proceed. As Greece is going through the pre-election phase, it is preferable to postpone it until after the general election, the Foreign Ministry told Rama’s counterpart. But this does not seem to have happened
Agreed with Rama’s partner to find an alternative solution to create a crowd at SEF.
At Megaros Maximos they insist that they have rightly chosen Freddy Peleris to be on the list of MEP candidates. Because while there are always fears for Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama’s policies, the morale of the northerners has dropped significantly after recent developments. Minorities also felt that Mother Greece had abandoned them and felt that Greece was outside
They never had priorities in politics. They also wanted a message to be sent to Rama, as prolonging Beleris’ imprisonment would strengthen his political fist, leading other allies to leave northern Epirus and further shrink an already weak Greece.
Minority. Any mention by Rama of the Athens elections would face him with European disapproval, as it would keep the elected MEP in jail. In a recent interview, he said, “My relationship with the Prime Minister of Greece is very good. Not because of us, but they have not changed even when there has been so much confusion in the relationship between the two countries. Because I believe in communication, dealing with facts. I can’t not say what I think. At the same time, I listen openly even if I don’t agree. I am ready. This conversation does not stop, but it happens in the state statements depending on the political position, political agenda, one’s welfare.
For the other’s own state, there may be disturbances in these relations.
There is no problem from my side and will never be. For me it is a matter of Albanian justice and that ends. What happens in Greece, what people who share the same nation do, is not my business, but here every Albanian citizen, regardless of nationality, is subject to Albanian justice.”
Greek diplomacy has no intention of disrupting bilateral relations and will continue to move in Brussels to support Albania’s European perspective as long as it complies with its obligations arising from international law. Everything depends on Edi Rama’s attitude and what kind of statements he will make against Greece, commenting on the Beleris candidacy in Athens.
