Realme’s new 320W technology promises to fully charge a mobile phone in less than 5 minutes – Realme

Realme’s new 320W technology promises to fully charge a mobile phone in less than 5 minutes – Realme

Realme has announced a revolutionary 320W smartphone charging technology, promising to fully charge the battery in just four minutes and 30 seconds.

This is a leap forward in fast charging, far surpassing the previous 65W, 100W, and 120W technologies we’ve seen in recent years.

The new technology relies on an innovative battery design, reminiscent of solar panels on satellites. Instead of the usual dual-cell arrangement, Realme uses four cells folded in this way to achieve optimal charging performance.

According to the company, the new technology can provide a 26% charge in just one minute and 50% in less than two minutes. This could be a lifesaver for those who forget to charge their smartphones before leaving the house.

However, experts are cautious about the effects of this technology on battery life. It is known that ultra-fast charging methods tend to accelerate battery wear. So there is a risk that a smartphone with 320W charging technology could lose a significant portion of its battery capacity within a few years.

Moreover, it begs the question of whether this fast charging technology is really necessary for the average user. Experts argue that current technologies of 65W, 80W, or 100W are sufficient to meet the needs of most consumers. For example, the OnePlus 12 offers a full charge in less than 30 minutes, which is satisfactory for most users.

It is still unclear whether Realme plans to launch a commercial model with this technology immediately. The company has not announced specific plans, nor provided information about the battery capacity that will be used in its upcoming flagship model.

However, it is worth noting that companies’ claims about charging speeds are often exaggerated in practice. For example, Realme’s previous 240W technology supported in the Realme GT 3 promised a full charge in nine and a half minutes, but in reality it took almost 15 minutes in our practical testing.

As smartphone technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace, it is important for consumers to carefully evaluate their true needs. The trade-off between charging speed and battery life remains a critical issue that manufacturers will have to address in the near future.
