“Read”: one word, thousands of feelings. How many times have we not sent a message on Instagram and “reading” brings anxiety, joy, sadness and rejection.
“Leave me in it while he reads.” A phrase that sums up all the porridge on the Internet! This is certainly not nice, but at least it is obvious. The man read it, understood it, and chose not to answer. The absence of a message – as the wise say – is a message.
It was in your hands, my child. This was the rejection.
So Instagram is here for you as it prepares to remove the “Reading” option.
As Mark Zuckerberg and Adam Moshiri announced via their streaming channels, there will be an option to turn off “reading.”

At the moment, the process is in the testing stages and it is not clear if and when it will be operational and whether it will also apply to Messenger.
For those — lucky or not — among the users who already have the option, go to Settings, then Privacy & Security and turn off the ability to notify your DM that you’ve read their message.
It remains to be seen how our lives will go without “reading.” It may be redemption, and the torment may be greater!
