“Renovation – Rent”: The government is considering increasing support to 60%

We are studying that this percentage reaches from 40% to 60% and that we will be able to enhance the program so that those who have a closed apartment in The last three years of renovating it and giving it a long-term lease.” He explained that the applications submitted so far for “renewal and rent” amounted to 1,551 applications, of which 841 were approved.

Supporting families and the vulnerable

“Every month the Ministry of Social Cohesion and the Family supports hundreds of thousands of families and our vulnerable citizens with a series of allowances and benefits totaling 300 million euros,” Ms. Zaharaki said, speaking about the extraordinary taxes imposed on refineries. “The surplus profits will mainly be aimed at supporting pensioners, who do not benefit from the planned increase in pensions due to personal differences.”

The minister said that this is the third time that the government has directed income from taxes on surplus profits to support the most vulnerable groups.

“The Prime Minister announced that taxes on surplus refinery profits will go to our vulnerable citizens. Let me remind you that this is not the first, but the third, time that exceptional taxes have targeted the vulnerable and now specifically on pensioners who still have personality differences.”
