Russia considers any possible military stand by US or NATO forces in Central Asia “unacceptable”Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday during a full session of a meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbors, which was attended by China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
“As we have already said, we consider it unacceptable to maintain any military infrastructure. US and NATO Lavrov said there are Afghans who care for them in the territory of neighboring states, mainly in Central Asia.
According to the Russian government, “Such intentions are contrary to the interests of our states in matters of security and contrary to the guarantees derived from the documents of the Collective Security Agreement, the Charter of the Organization.”The Chancellor briefly.
During his speech, Lavrov stressed that appeals for the treatment of Afghan refugees in neighboring countries should be handled “with the utmost caution” and that “potential negative consequences” be weighed before making a decision. “Although these approaches are presented under classic humanitarian slogans, greater awareness is not superfluous,” the Russian minister concluded.
