the Samsung It has just unveiled a very special product that unites the worlds of fashion and technology. Known Short sneakersAn innovative wearable device, it is neither a watch nor a ring, but…shoes!
These are sneakers, developed in collaboration with Dutch designer Roel van Hove, that can control the wearer’s Galaxy smartphone through their foot movements!
Going into details, the Shortcut Sneaker is described as “Future sports shoes” It is the result of a unique collaboration between Samsung, Cheil Benelux, Elitac Wearables, Brut Amsterdam and visionary sneaker designer Roel van Hove. However, at this point, you might reasonably be wondering how exactly it works with smartphones. Users can perform different shortcuts, such as starting music or making calls, through dance moves.
Different gestures correspond to different actions on the phone. For example, you can do a moonwalk while wearing shoes so that the phone initiates a call. Accordingly, you can start clapping for the mobile to play music. This is made possible thanks to motion sensors placed in the sole and monitoring their position relative to each other. In total, there will be five shortcuts available with five unique moves.
At this point, it’s worth noting that the Shortcut Sneaker is going to be highly collectible. Only nine will be released and there is no purchase option. The shoes will be made available exclusively to Samsung members in the Netherlands through a competition that ends on July 9.
