Science has determined: This is the ideal age difference between couples
Does the age difference between spouses play a role in a relationship’s chances of “survival”? According to the researchers, the answer is yes.
Obviously, there are no “rules” in matters of relationships. But researchers from Emory University in Atlanta concluded that the greater the age difference between the two partners, the higher the chances of separation.
This research was done in 2014, but has now been re-updated by The Independent. The research included 3,000 married people and experts concluded that couples with a five-year age difference are 18% more likely to divorce, compared to two people of the same age in a relationship.
This percentage rises to 39% for couples 10 years age difference And by 95% of those who “distinguish” between them two decadesAccording to research. For those who make a difference 30 yearsthe odds of divorce are 172% higher than their peers.
As for The “ideal” age differenceAccording to the researchers, it is one year old. In this case the chances of separation are only 3% compared to a couple of the same age.
The same research concluded that the longer a couple is together, the lower the chances of divorce. Specifically, those who counted out five years of being in a relationship were 76% less likely to break up.
