The tragic accident that took place on Sunday morning at the 11th kilometer of the Shanti-Kawala National Road has caused a shock. Six passengers from the bus were injured, three of them critically, when a car and a bus collided with four youths (two men and two women) aged between 20 and 25 years.
It all started when a Kavala-bound car collided head-on with a bus. According to information, the vehicle crossed the opposite stream at high speed and collided heavily with the bus, resulting in its overturning and killing four youths instantly.
The four were brought out by the fire brigade and taken to Shanti Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Police notification of traffic accident
“On 6-16-2024 at 07:55, at 11th km of National Highway Shanti – Kavala, a car driven by IXE, a 26-year-old citizen, along with four other persons, collided head-on with a Dx. Bus.
The result of the collision was fatal injury to the driver of the IXE. The car and three passengers in the car, including a 28-year-old foreigner, a 22-year-old local and a 27-year-old foreigner, a 22-year-old local and an IXE vehicle, a 52-year-old resident bus driver and three bus passengers, including a 39-year-old foreigner and two residents aged 57 and 24. All the injured were taken to Shanti Hospital.
