Some dream – in vain – of the government of ND-SYRIZA

Some dream – in vain – of the government of ND-SYRIZA

Some people do not say what they say by accident, because they themselves are not accidental. Their relationships and relationships, if nothing else, force us to listen carefully to them. Much more so when it comes to someone who has risen to the highest level in the military hierarchy and whose relationship is known to be economic factors.

Thus, the day before yesterday, that is, shortly before the elections, he announced that he “will not rule out a new democratic government – SYRIZA.” What does the poet mean to say?

It is clear that forming a large coalition government is not necessarily a negative thing. On the contrary, it helps to solve big problems that provoke popular reactions. When the two major parties not only agree but share governance, it only makes sense that the basis of consensus should be broadened.

But for this to happen, two cumulative conditions must be met:

1. Both parties, regardless of ideological differences, must move in the same cultural field, espouse the same values and address citizens of the same anthropological type.

2. The desire and ability to converge not only on the main government axes, but also on individual issues through mutual concessions, because they consider cooperative government a strategic choice and not a solution imposed by situations.

If these two reasons are not present, the government scheme will be stillborn and will collapse in a wave as soon as one of the two partners sees that the government’s downfall is beneficial to his party.

In our country, there is an abyss separating New Democracy and Syriza. There is no point of contact. The two parties operate in different cultural fields and represent citizens belonging to different anthropological categories. They can’t even talk to each other. How will they work together?

Not to talk about programming affinities. New Democracy and SYRIZA express two different worldviews that are also reflected in their programmatic discourse. Joint government out of necessity would lead to complete paralysis of the public and private sectors. In the main areas of government activity, where there are disagreements of a strategic nature, what will happen? To arm or not to arm? Do we help Ukraine or not? Do we build the wall or tear it down?

There is no “little bit of everything” or “we’ll figure it out” in these matters. There are no middle grounds. Either this or that. And when the two government partners don’t agree, nothing happens.

I understand that powerful commercial interests want weak governments to control them. Because the new democracy – Syriza government will not be just a powerless government. It will be a paralyzed government led and carried by centers outside the institutions.

Perhaps some are promoting this scenario because they want to return Syriza to power, at least in a cooperative way. They want to keep a. Tsipras politically alive.

Against these vague proposals, the answer is the same: a self-sufficient government, with clear goals and a strong majority. And let’s not forget: independent government does not mean one-party government.
