the starfield is one of the most anticipated games of the fall and is the big Xbox exclusive from Bethesda. After the Xbox 2023 Games Showcase where the title was shown at length in the “Starfield Direct” special, Todd Howard He is constantly doing interviews left and right to promote the game.
In his recent interview with Kinda Funny Xcast, he answered many of the journalists’ questions and thanks to them, revealed another aspect of Starfield’s epic spaceflight and exploration scale.
At one point, Howard answered a question about the thousands of procedurally generated planets that would be exploreable in the Starfield. He said it so characteristically “About 10% of the more than 1,000 planets in his world will live on it“The reason? Bethesda wants to convey a feeling.”Majestic wildernessexisting in the universe.
He was also asked how much content is handmade on planets and how much activities are done on them, Howard said, “There’s no way we’re going to craft an entire planet.” Instead, Bethesda builds by hand.”Individual sites, some of which are targeted’, which means things like cities and locations relevant to quests, “And then we have a bunch of those that are set up or set up when you land depending on the planet.”.
Howard has already made it clear that the 10% of planets that host life in a Starfield makes it very busy, especially from a scientific point of view. “We’re pushing the science part. About 10% of those planets are going to live on. We’re going to push it to the limits of what people think, planets that are in the Goldilocks zone versus planets that don’t have the resources. We’re going to create certain things that can be found on barren planets, but if you look To a planet… there is – I love Buzz Aldrin’s quote – “a wonderful wilderness”.he said characteristically.
I think there’s a certain beauty in landing on them and feeling like I’m one of the only people or the only person who’s ever visited this planet.” Howard said. “We hope everyone will enjoy it for what it is, but it’s a different exploration than what we had.”
