The apartment in Glyfada combines an open mood with minimal aesthetics

The architectural office of gkotsis serafimidou architects designed an apartment by following two main directions in architectural design. To offer charm and elegance along with modern elements that perfectly serve the modern needs of users.

Hence, the reason behind a unique apartment located on the 5th floor of a residential building in Glyfada that offers ideal living conditions, while paying tribute to modern design. In fact, the building is two apartments joined together to create an independent and self-contained functional space.

as described Architects Christos Gotsis and Elena SeraphimedouThis union enabled the floor plan to evolve in two intersecting axes, creating a clear separation between the daycare spaces and the more private spaces.

On the first axis there is the living room, dining room and kitchen, while on the second axis there are two bedrooms with bathrooms and auxiliary spaces. The passage leads from one area to the next through a hidden door in a wall lined with vertical oak elements.

Wood paneling dominates the interior of the apartment, either in natural oak finishes, as in the aforementioned floors and wall, or in white lacquer, as in the kitchen and dining room cabinets. The material palette is complemented by white Corian on the counters, black marble slabs with white water, and a black glass pane covering the entire kitchen wall. Therefore, these colors – white, black and light oak – almost exclusively characterize the whole proposal.

Functions coexist harmoniously and clearly
This particular project masterfully combines elegant, minimalist aesthetics with a more modern approach, providing residents the perfect haven of comfort, understated luxury and refinement.

The main goal was to free up the floor plan by hiding the supporting posts and storage cabinets around the perimeter. The side surfaces of the spaces remain continuous, with concealed doors and panels throughout their height.

In addition, three structures grouping the main functions were conceived and placed centrally in the main spaces of the apartment, regulating movement around them and at the same time serving as signaling elements (food preparation, entertainment, sleep).

In the kitchen, island furniture includes the sink, countertop hobs, dishwasher, as well as storage spaces. Opposite, between the living room and dining room, the freestanding fireplace construction includes a TV in a hidden cabinet above the fireplace.

Black and white marble gives a sense of luxury

A similar role is performed in the master bedroom with a wooden structure, on the front side of which there is a bed with bedside tables, while on the other side there is a bathroom table with sinks, a mirror and storage drawers.

Harmony, a sense of calm and geometry in the bedroom
Custom made wooden structures are designed by the architectural team.
Functional areas with modern equipment create that perfect private home for every owner with requirements that meet the demands of modern daily life.

Finally, where the existing building elements could not be hidden, they were incorporated and exposed, as in the case of the beam in the bedroom ceiling, the surfaces of which have been sandblasted and highlighted with concealed lighting in the suspended ceiling.

The classic and elegant style of the apartment is masterfully combined with modern elements in an interesting combination with a perfect blend of both styles. The result is a space that feels timeless and contemporary, and above all maintains a sense of elegance and refinement. In other words, simplicity and minimalism with a modern design feel.
