The best footballs we met in “Ovadekas”

Football games for every taste and every player.

the arcades It has thrived over the past decades and during its heyday we have been able to enjoy some of the top video games with football content.

Those days did not have consoles and computers with today’s computer power, and therefore, whenever we were looking for something more quality in terms of graphics, we had to “feed” the cabin rooms, also known as “upadikas” with coins.

Let’s take a look at some of the best football games we have enjoyed at the time.

Backstreet Football (1996)
In 1996, SunA Electronics released Back Street Soccer to arcades in Korea. It is a game that – as its title suggests – offers matches in arenas and on arenas, paving the way for what later became FIFA Street.

Cebu Football Cup (1991)
Seibu Kaihatsu is one of the little-known companies in the field dealing with arcades and has been active in this field since 1985. Its main soccer game was Seibu Cup Soccer, which offered Super Sidekicks-style matches with 3D action on a 2D field.

Football Brawl (1995)
It may not have been just a soccer game, but it was based on the logic of Super Sidekicks and placed bots with rifles and machine guns on the field. In addition to trying to achieve an objective, you also have the ability to shoot opponents and get them out of their way for a short period of time.

Super Sidekicks 3: The Next Glory (1995)
Super Sidekicks was one of SNK’s flagship soccer series and was one of the first to feature pseudo-3D space action. The third part of the series was also the most advanced with 64 teams divided into 8 regions of the world, none of them having the official license of FIFA or UEFA.

Tecmo Millennium World Cup (2000)
Tecmo has a long history in sports video games, and Tecmo’s World Cup was the perfect answer to SEGA’s Virtua Striker. One could say it was a stopover from arcade games to more high-end games for home consoles and PCs.

Takan World Cup (1986)
There should be no person who hasn’t wasted at least one coin for the Tahkan World Cup table. With an overhead camera and players able to score goals blindly from set points in the first few matches, it was a title that could keep you occupied for hours. Although the first matches after a few tries became routine, the road to the final became difficult after the third 90 minutes.

Virtua Striker 2 (1997)
SEGA has been a dominant force in the arcade space for many years, and this is where they began developing most of their 3D games. Virtua Striker 2 was one of the best soccer game, offering 3D graphics and quite interesting gameplay.
