The closure of a gas station and a “huge” fine for fuel smuggling

He entered the lock of a gas station in the wider Oenui Attica region, after an inspection by the independent Public Revenue Authority.

Specifically, the officers of the Attica Customs Audit Department, after analyzing the risk and using the information, went to the gas station and found that it was operating without legal authorization, did not have a proven input-output system, and was issuing receipts from a cash register, which did not send data to AADE.

Illegal fuel tanks were found in his yard, without the required volumetric tank tables, and a tanker truck illegally converted, according to its registration, from a truck to a tanker truck.

The gas station has been operating illegally since 2010, carrying trademarks of a supplier company in violation of the relevant rules and illegally selling fuel with a total value of more than 18 million euros on the local market.

The inspectors proceeded to close the gas station, imposed an administrative fine of more than 150,000 euros, and arrested its owner and proprietor with autoforo procedures.
