A document has come to light that confirms that the transfer of the station master arrested before Larissa was a New Democracy bribe.

SYRIZA-PS Transport and Infrastructure Leader Christos Spirtzis made the announcement during a party conference titled “Safe Transport, Modern Infrastructure”.

Jailed station master Vasilis Samaras, who was on duty at the time of the train crash in Tempe, sought to return to OSE in 2019 based on a mobility process initiated by the previous government, according to documents submitted by the SYRIZA department head.

Based on the documents, the station master, who was working in Larisa’s Primary Education Directorate at the time, submitted the application on December 16, 2019, when the Mitsotakis government took over. However, at that time he received a negative response. He was unfit for the post as he had the distinction of being a Baggage Office Supervisor.

However, the following year, a new process was initiated by the Mitsotakis government that allowed the request for a transfer to the position of station master to be satisfied.
