Alexis Georgoulis spoke from his office in the European Parliament, in his first interview following the sexual assault complaint filed against him in spring 2023 by PASOK executive director Eleni Chronopoulou.
On Monday afternoon Alexis Georgoulis was a guest on the program “Good Evening Central Greece” broadcast by the regional broadcaster TRT. He talked about the European elections but did not mention the issue of sexual assault at all. Sotiris Polizos noted that if it had been up to the MEP, he would have spoken about the case, meaning that while the judiciary is looking into the matter, Alexis Georgoulis cannot speak publicly.
“There are proposals. For me, the European elections are like a new term. That is, I would like to ask the people to try to struggle for a new mandate. This thought excites me a lot.” said Alexis Georgoulis, who made it clear that he thought he would like a second term in the European Parliament.
“I would like to go for a second term. The thing is, I have to think a lot and that makes it about 50-50 whether I will make that decision about what's happening in Greece. How should and to what extent the point of view I hold should hold up? The actor noted.
