The Game Awards 2022: All the winners – The Games

It was the Elden Ring’s “Game of the Year” winner, beating out other nominees including A Plague Tale: Requiem, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Game director Hidetaka Miyazaki appeared on stage to accept the award. Through a translator, Miyazaki thanked the developers and publisher of the software, as well as author George R.R. Martin who wrote the background and history of the Elden Ring. Miyazaki also thanked the fans for their support and promised that From Software is preparing more Elden Ring and other ideas in the future.

God of War Ragnarok leads all other games with a total of 10 nominations, while Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West each have 7 nominations.

In addition to Game of the Year, Elden Ring won Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best RPG.
