The CES technology show that started today in Las Vegas was chosen by Mercedes to introduce us to its impressive new MB.OS infotainment system. A system that will initially be equipped with the production version of the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and will be expanded to include all models based on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA).
Perhaps the most important and truly impressive element of the new infotainment system is the MBUX Virtual Assistant function, which essentially provides a digital assistant that uses artificial intelligence.
A digital assistant that can sense the driver's mood and act accordingly. If for example. The system recognizes that the driver is in a good mood, then responds more to the conversation and will be able to suggest functions such as seat massage, etc. On the other hand, when it realizes that the driver is not having the best day, responses will be shorter and demands for other functions will be fewer. In fact, the “face” of this digital assistant will appear on the central touchscreen in the form of a star, which will change colors and designs, depending on the current emotional atmosphere in the car.
In fact, in this new system, the driver will not have to say the well-known phrase “Hey Mercedes” before each voice command. Instead, he will be able to simply say “I feel warm” and the AI will automatically turn on the air conditioning.
The new MB.OS system also debuts the new MBUX Surround navigation system. This setting uses advanced 3D graphics to provide passengers with a detailed map and can highlight vehicles on the road, including cars, trucks, cyclists, and even pedestrians near the road.
