the HMD announce it Nokia G42a brand new smartphone, which is also the company’s first 5G phone that can be made by the user himself, thanks to its partnership with iFixit.
The phone comes with a 6.5-inch HD + IPS LCD screen that also offers a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother browsing and more. At the top front of the display, you will also find an 8MP selfie camera, while the entire screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
On the back of the device, you’ll find a central 50MP (f/1.8) camera with two additional macro lenses and for better depth-sensing in your shots, it goes up to 2MP. The G42 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480+ and you can get it with 4 or 6GB of RAM, but only 128GB of storage, though that can be expanded via a microSD card.
The G42 runs on Android 13 and HMD promises two years of OS updates and three years of security patches. Its battery is 5,000mAh with 20W fast charging, while HMD states that it will be able to last you for three days of normal use.
The device supports a 3.5 headphone jack, is IP52 certified, and you will find a fingerprint scanner on the side.
Nokia G42 will be available in purple and gray at 249 € for 6 / 128GB.
