Realme is one of the mid-range-focused manufacturers that seeks to offer something different. This is exactly what it aims to do with the Realme 12+ 5G, one of its latest smartphones, which has begun to be available these days (exclusively in the Kotsovolos store chain) and one can say that it is a device aimed at those who want to create content for social media. Opera means they’re more interested in taking photos and videos in “portrait” mode, or in portrait mode if you prefer. In addition, it is a device with a design reminiscent of more expensive models.

Different design

When one sees the Realme 12+ 5G one becomes… curious. This is because the design is very impressive, thanks to Realme’s collaboration with the French house Ollivier Saveo, which deals, among other things, in the design of luxury watches having worked with companies such as Rolex, Breitling and Piaget.

The back of the device usually resembles a watch, thanks to the perfectly round and symmetrical frame in which we find the three cameras, with the flash being perfectly round and symmetrical. Since the casing of the device is made of vegan leather, the feeling experienced by the user is very satisfying.

On the front side there is a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a very satisfactory image and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. An interesting addition is Rainwater Smart Touch technology. This is the technology that recognizes whether there are water drops on the screen and adjusts its action for greater accuracy. What does this mean; That if the first crumb falls, the user will not need to wipe the Realme 12+ 5G screen every few seconds for it to work properly!

One difference compared to the competition is the camera system. The main camera comes from Sony (LYT-600) and comes with a resolution of 50 megapixels. However, what is worth noting is that it has been specially configured to improve photo and video capture in portrait mode. The main camera has an image stabilizer as well as a 2x optical zoom and generally offers – as we had the opportunity to see – sharper images and greater shooting flexibility to take pictures, at different distances, precisely. Performance and battery

As for the processor, it is an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7050, which provides completely satisfactory performance. Specifically, the device in our hands had 12GB of memory and 512GB of internal storage. In practical terms, this meant that we had no issues with the number of apps open at the same time, and we didn’t have to worry about whether the photos and videos we took were suitable for our devices.

In addition, the 5,000 mAh battery contributed to a better experience, a number found in almost all smartphones. What we don’t see very often is the ability to charge very quickly at 67W.

Overall, however, the Realme 12+ 5G proved durable and despite heavy use, we didn’t need to charge it during the day. When we did this, charging was extremely fast, taking only 50 minutes for the battery to reach 100% from 0%.

It is noteworthy that the realme 12+ 5G phone comes with the Android 14 operating system and realme UI 5.0, which provides many features and amenities. One of them was the ease of connecting to a computer, which more and more users demand.

As for the question “is it worth the money”, the answer is most likely “yes”, because at 429 euros it offers a fair number of possibilities. In practical terms, it is an option worth trying, by anyone looking for an inexpensive smartphone that covers multiple needs.
