As we learn from PCmagthe Karen Green I managed to sell my 2007 iPhone for $63,356. Auction started from LCG Auctions at $2,500 and received 27 bids from different collectors. Finally, said sealed and very rare phone managed to pass $63,000 and was sold yesterday, February 19th.
Let us remind you somewhere here, that the phone was launched on June 29, 2007 in America and it cost $599 since it was the 8 GB version.
For the record, Karen Green received an iPhone as a gift in 2007. But since he had another phone at the time and the iPhone wasn’t compatible with the mobile network he was using, he decided to leave it locked inside a locker. And as you can see, the phone has been there for many years.
Last October, Green heard that a first-generation 2007 iPhone had sold for about $40,000, and that’s when she called LCG Auctions. The founder of the company has confirmed that it is indeed a sealed iPhone and that it is truly a collector’s item.
In fact, Karen previously appeared in an episode of an American series called Doctor and singer They estimated that the iPhone was worth $5,000. But it looks like she was patient and has now managed to sell it for $63,356.
The original iPhone was Apple’s revolutionary device with a touch screen, a whopping 4GB of storage for its data at the time, apps and many other features that were way ahead of anything released at the time.
