A horror game based on an unusual idea, which may reach the peak of anxiety, has spread over the past few hours on social networking sites.
It’s about “do not shout”, a chilling horror experience that aspires to keep you on the edge of your seat. It is a relatively short-lived game, developed by indie developers using Unreal Engine 5.
Visually, it is inspired by found footage from 90s camcorders. Thus, it adopts a very realistic perspective, which is like holding an action camera in your hand, like the ones often carried by airsoft players or police officers in the USA.
The game’s concept seems deceptively simple: you must traverse a haunted forest for 18 minutes without giving in to the urge to scream. If you scream, the game will restart automatically! Of course, as players will quickly realize, time only moves with them, and around every corner lurks horrific scenes that can instantly set the pulse racing.
It is worth noting that the game “Don’t Scream” uses an innovative microphone system that monitors the players’ vocal reactions. So, while players can chat while playing, a sound louder than a soft murmur may risk ending their journey prematurely.
Don’t Scream is expected to be released later in 2023 for PC. Until then, you can get a taste through the player below!
