A spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, said that Qatar is working to secure an agreement between the movement and Israel that includes the release of 200 children and 75 women from Israeli prisons.
In return, Hamas will release between 50 and 70 prisoners – only women and children. Abu Ubaida said, “The enemy requested the release of 100 prisoners.”
The Al-Qassam Brigades called for a five-day ceasefire, including a ceasefire and allowing humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip.
“The enemy does not care who kills his prisoners.”
“But the enemy evades and obstructs. Not only does it endanger the lives of Palestinian civilians, but it does not care about killing its prisoners,” Abu Ubaida said.
He even cited as an example an Israeli soldier who was captured alive, but killed in an Israeli air strike a few days earlier.
Video with the Israeli hostage
The video they released shows Ful Azani Mark Asiani, who was said to have been killed after an Israeli raid on Gaza where she was being held hostage.
According to Al-Qassam, the video was recorded at the beginning of the Israeli attack on Gaza.
“The Israelis aborted the agreement”
The Al-Qassam Brigades claim that Israel thwarted this agreement.
The brigades are published through the Hamas-affiliated Al-Quds News Network.
