This is the supermarket with the ‘cheapest’ take-home basket

Early in the morning the new home basket was announced, which includes products in all supermarkets and their prices.

Most of the supermarket chains have made new discounts amounting to -18.1% of the total cost of the “household basket”, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Development.

These results came, according to the announcement, based on the new price lists announced by the ministry today, Wednesday, November 23, and are valid for the fourth week of implementing the government’s initiative (23-29/11/2022).

“Black Friday this week seems to have started with the new prices on the “basket of household products.” The first evaluation of the new prices shows that out of 816 products, 60 products increased and 167 decreased while 589 products remained the same. The Minister of Development and Investment, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, pointed out the most important Thing.. all chains have a discount.

In detail, among the 816 products in the “basket of household products” they are quite comparable

– at 167, that is, by 20.5%, the price fell

– In 589 72.1% the price remained stable

– And only in the 60th by an average of 7.3%, the price has increased slightly in most cases.

“Therefore, the total cost of the ‘household basket’ was significantly reduced in the vast majority of supermarkets with the largest reduction of 18.1% in my market chain,” notes the Ministry.
