The Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the Hellenic Parliament was invited and our positions were presented by the President of the Federation, Mr. Grigoris Gerakarakos, regarding the provisions of the Ministry of Finance bill entitled “Debt settlement framework and other tax and customs regulations, protection of pensions from inflation and other provisions to support society and entrepreneurship” .
In particular, Article 91 provides provisions to amend Law No. 4472/2017 regarding the salary system for the armed forces and security forces, with the aim, according to the advisory report, to increase the efficiency of their executive managers, by providing salary incentives.
However, this goal, as confirmed by the President of our Federation, has not been achieved, because There was no prior consultation on the rationalization of the current bill, as a result of which the distortions and injustices erected by the then government in 2017 were preserved. Which, in fact, were condensed in the disputed article referred to in Category C of the Special Payroll.
The union is campaigning for a new wage bill that takes into account our basic demand for recognition of the seriousness of work, as well as the decisions of the State Council. In this direction, our trade union movement seeks dialogue with the relevant ministers, demands the withdrawal of the article in question and opposes, in the context of this law, the fulfillment of another of our permanent demands, namely, the increase in the amount of hourly night compensation that remains constant in the era of warrants.
