Turkish Airlines is in talks with Airbus to reach a deal that, if completed, could be the largest order in the history of the Turkish airline.
The company’s management met with Airbus officials in Istanbul to discuss the purchase of 345 aircraft in addition to an order for 10 A350-900 aircraft announced in January, according to the state-run Anadolu Agency.
Officials discussed an order that includes 75 A350-900 aircraft, 15 A350-1000 aircraft, five A350F freighters, and 250 A321 NEO aircraft, according to Anadolu.

Connections with Rolls Royce
Negotiations were also held with officials from engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce to provide maintenance services and spare engines for the wide-body A350 aircraft.
Turkish Airlines President Ahmet Polat announced in May that the company plans to order 600 planes, without providing information on the number of planes it was ordering from Airbus or its main competitor, Boeing.
The Turkish Airlines president said: “In the next ten years, we aim to achieve a growth of 7.4%, which is a more modest growth compared to the past 20 years, to transport 170 million passengers and reach a huge fleet of 810 aircraft.”
