Two years mladenovic and officially in clover

Two years mladenovic and officially in clover

Panathinaikos announced the acquisition of Filip Mladenovic, who signed a two-year contract with the Greens. The Serb will leave for his homeland to join the Serbian national team.

Panathinaikos’ player in all formalities for the next two years is Filip Mladenovic as PAE Green announced the acquisition of the Serbian full-back on Monday afternoon.

The Serbian arrived back in the early morning and started the early morning course of medicals and anthropometry and then was in the offices of Green PAE and signed his new contract.

The relevant PAE declaration states:

PAE Panathinaikos announces the acquisition of Filip Mladenovic. The Serbian left-back signed a two-year contract.

Philip Mladenovic was born on the 15th of August 1991 in Çacak, Serbia. He started at a young age in his hometown team in Borac. His talent did not go unnoticed and in December 2011 Red Star awarded him a four-year contract. He was set to stay in the Serbian ‘big’ for two years, after Red Star’s financial problems led to a series of changes at the Serbian club. Mladenovic applied for and eventually succeeded in being released at the end of 2013.

In February 2014, he went abroad to the champion of Belarus BATE Borisov. There, in his debut, he scored and gave his team the Super Cup. Something great in his career turned out there. He played two “full” seasons, won two leagues, two Super Cups and one Cup, while participating in the Champions League groups in 2015-16, starring with two goals in a fantastic 3-2 victory over Roma!

Thanks to this cycle, many great clubs – such as AC Milan – were interested in having Mladenovic join their squad. Finally, in January 2016, he ended up in the Bundesliga and Cologne, but failed to prove himself. A year later he was appointed to the Belgian Standard Liège. There he got few opportunities and eventually was sold in January 2018 to Polish Lechia Gdansk. In Poland he found himself well again, the one who appeared on the fields of Belarus.

With Lechia he won the Cup and the Super Cup in 2019, until the summer of 2020 he was snatched away by the great Polish club Legia Warsaw. In his first season, he did so much that he became the best player in the league! He won the championship, became a key cog in the team, again found a place in the Serbian national team, and also played in the last World Cup, while finishing his career in Legia with a cup a month and a half ago.

Welcome Philip to the Panathinaikos family!
