Tzavellas to Gazeta: “Now I get love from fans of all teams”

Tzavellas to Gazeta: “Now I get love from fans of all teams”

“Thassos is a hero in Türkiye, and I am in Greece.”

But you went to Turkey, where not only did you create a great new chapter in your book of life, but everyone drank water in your name. Is this where you turned around and changed what you said before, that you were impulsive?

“Yes, this is where I started looking for myself. Like we all do at some point in our lives. To say, 'What's going on, man?' Yes, well, you don't lie, and you don't do this and that, but why do you keep fooling around? To make a mistake, you have to do something.”

You are also a man of faith. Did you always have them or did they appear when you started these tasks?

“Always. And let me tell you something, even if I sometimes post it on social media when I go to church, I don't do it to be called a good Christian. I swear a lot and I make mistakes and I get nervous. I do it because I get 4-5 messages saying 'I saw you “Man, I also went to church on Sunday morning.” For nothing else. One could interpret that as, “What is he telling us now?”, but that's what I do. It's personal for me, I was raised that way.”

In Türkiye, I also made a very nice Greek bariki. As is the case in Germany…

“I had Amanatidis-Jika in Frankfurt. In Monaco I was with my friend Alexandros Giulis. These were gifts. Many years abroad, but it always worked out for me. Good cities, good friends. What can we say about children in Turkey? Great athletes And my friends. Especially with Tasos (Pakasita) we are closer than anyone else. We had a great time, we helped each other in different areas. We developed together. Tasos became a champion in Turkey, and I came back and became a champion in Greece. So, this cooperation with Tasso is a gift. When he came to Turkey it was at a very bad stage for him and he found me on the horse, but in stall. I was no longer called up to the national team, but I was king there, I had good contracts and everyone loved me. Then I had to get Tasso out “From this difficult phase he was in, but when we got into these conversations I also realized that I had become comfortable and remained stagnant. So I was basically trying to unban Tasso and prove to me that you are not done yet, man, you can come back to the national team and do things.” I didn't see it at the time, but then I wanted to prove to myself that I could. So I would sit down and work with him, which is something I don't generally do off the field. I worked hard on the field, but off the field I did very little. So one thing led to another, and I managed to return to the national team, go to AEK, to win the championship and the cup. I thank my friend Tasso for that.”

Tassos is a man who speaks frankly about the life of the modern athlete, which many people refuse to understand.

“We're not dealing with that at all, we're dealing with a lot of other issues, which I think we're starting to go to the other extreme. That is, I've always been in favor of 50-50, without expanding further, in our community. We're now starting and going from 0 To 100. We need to stop dealing with them for a while and start dealing with others who are more important.”

I also mentioned Alexandros Tziolis, who He spoke to the newspaper He turned his goal into becoming a head coach. In general, there are quite a few guys with great character and potential who have yet to take the next step after the end of their career.

“I consider it unfair for Greek football that Alexandros Tziolis, who has done many studies, has many degrees, is not already the head coach of the team. I also think it is a shame that people like Dimitris Salpingidis have no place in Greek football and that they have arrived To a point where they don't want to deal with it.”
