John Torode received mixed reviews from This Morning viewers for “cooking” a country salad during Monday’s show.
The 58-year-old chef and British MasterChef host sailed around Greece and prepared a delicious Greek salad for viewers at home during ITV’s latest morning show.
However, viewers took to Twitter to comment on whether he had accidentally said “spliff” instead of “split”, before attacking him for “cooking” a simple country salad.
During the presentation, the famous chef said: “Tomorrow we will go directly from Split, so we will see you there, get off the ship, learn a little about Split, and then have a good time.”
One user criticized him for making a simple salad, saying: “Send him on a cruise to make a Greek (village) salad.”
“Chops vegetables and salad and puts them in a bowl. Geniuses! “She’s making a Greek salad,” said another.
In front of him is a table with vegetables such as cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, herbs, olives, oil, vinegar and feta cheese.
Others questioned his gaffe, saying: “Did he say ‘find out a little bit about spliff?’ Did he just say spliff?” Spliff is a cannabis cigarette that has been confused with Split, Croatia.
Others defended him, saying he usually says “split” and they heard wrong.
