Vatti Square murder of 63-year-old man solved – Who is guilty?

The killer of a 63-year-old Bulgarian man found dead with stab wounds in Vati Square in the early hours of Wednesday, June 7, has been identified.

The 61-year-old Turkish citizen, known to authorities and accused of rape, sexual acts, unlawful violence and other crimes, has given different names and ages in the past.

Investigations

According to police, the unfortunate man from Bulgaria was found dead with a sharp object wound to the chest outside a health shop.

For the investigation of the case, information and pre-trial data were evaluated and used, and from the analysis it was possible to identify the elements of the perpetrator of the attack.

In Exarchia

This is a 61-year-old foreigner of Turkish nationality who was found yesterday afternoon (15-06-2023) by a special operation team in Exarchia, which was set up for this, after related investigations.

Clothes and footwear and a rucksack, which he was wearing at the time of the murder, were seized from his possession.

The file generated was submitted to the competent prosecutor, who referred the case to the main trial and a suitable warrant was issued against the 61-year-old, with which he was arrested and efficiently prosecuted.

The moment of the murder

A 61-year-old man’s murderous attack was caught on security camera. Initially, the defendant did not admit to the crime, however, when the police showed him the video, he admitted that he was drunk and did not remember how it happened and why he stabbed the 63-year-old.
