During the 2022 G7 summit, US President Joe Biden refused to meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz because he needed to go to bed, and another report raised questions about his health.

The 81-year-old president’s circle tried to hide signs of aging Joe Biden was showing, according to the Wall Street Journal. According to the report, “German officials, aware of Biden’s fatigue, rushed the president to his bed while concealing the cancellation of the meeting with the chancellor.”

“The meeting was called off as a secret meeting on Ukraine in a relaxed setting,” while Biden never showed up, angering the adviser and his aides. “Instead, Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived and announced that Biden should go to bed, according to two people who were there.”

In January, Joe Biden met with congressional leaders to negotiate a funding deal for Ukraine, at times speaking so quietly that some in the audience had trouble hearing him, according to five people familiar with the meeting.

He read notes, pausing for long periods and closing his eyes so often that some in the room wondered if he had fallen asleep. The 81-year-old president’s entourage tried to hide the signs of aging that were showing in Joe Biden.
