the Ubisoft Unveiled a new feature-length video for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. No, this isn’t a cinematic trailer or a game trailer, but rather a video where the development team talks about their opinions, but also about how they decided to return to their roots with Mirage.
The game will tell Bassem’s story 300 years before the events with Altair and wants to convey everything fans loved about the first games in a more modern way. Ubisoft developers say in the video that the game’s map is designed entirely for parkour, while showcasing another important feature that was missing from recent games.
This is social stealth, which you will definitely remember from the old games. For example, Bassem will be able to hide in the world and this will play an important role in the gameplay, giving you an additional way to deal with the situation.
Entitled A Return to the Roots, the video description states among other things:
Take a look behind the scenes of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and discover how the development team created an experience that pays homage to Assassin’s Creed by revisiting its main pillars: parkour, stealth and assassination.
This is the first episode of our series that takes you behind the scenes at the Mirage! Stay tuned for upcoming videos to learn more about Bassem’s journey and Baghdad in the ninth century.
More about Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be revealed at the Ubisoft Forward Live event on June 12th at 8:00 PM.
Mirage tells the story of Bassem, a cunning thief who searches for answers and justice as he wanders the bustling streets of 9th century Baghdad. Through an ancient mysterious organization known as The Hidden Ones, he will become a deadly master assassin and change his destiny in ways he could never have imagined. According to the company, this is a smaller scale and more narrative-driven experience compared to the last chapters of the series.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is expected to be released on October 12, 2023 for Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, Stadia, Amazon Luna, and PC. The game will also be available on Ubisoft’s subscription service +.
