Weather: The heat continues – the ‘cocktail’ of fire support is back

With temperatures above 32 degrees on most days in June, with scorching heat in the middle of the month and unrelenting heat even at night, scientists believe we are in for the hottest June on record in Greece. In the next period the weather-determining element was the Meldemias, which would dominate the Aegean. Meteorologists will be waiting from tomorrow, Tuesday (25/6/24). Beaufort strengthens the wind from 6 to 7. Somehow, the difficult triad of heat – drought – strong wind, which creates a great danger of fire, returns.

So Tuesday (25/6/24) will be another warm day starting with sunshine in most areas. At noon, clouds will start from continental areas, then rain and showers are expected in the highlands of Thessaly, Epirus and Macedonia.

Temperatures will drop slightly to 35 to 36 degrees in northern Greece, but in other areas, There will be more for the season.

In particular, in the continental areas, it reaches 39 degrees in the afternoon and 36 in the Aegean, while the Meltemi strengthens, reaching 6 to 7 Beaufort.

In Attica, the temperature reaches 38 degrees, and in the north it reaches 5 Beaufort.

In Thessaloniki, the thermometer shows up to 34 degrees, with a southerly wind of up to 5 Beaufort.

On Tuesday (24/6/24) the weather will be clear, the clouds will be partly cloudy in continental areas and thick in the afternoon and afternoon, and there will be local rain or isolated storms in the mountains, mainly in western and central Macedonia.

In Epirus the minimum is 3 to 5 degrees lower.

Eastern Styria, Evia, Eastern Peloponnese

Scattered clouds with local showers and isolated thunderstorms over central Styria and eastern Peloponnese mountains, 4 to 5 north-northeast and east locally 6 Beaufort. The temperature ranges from 23 to 37 to 38 degrees Celsius.

Cyclades, Crete

Weather will be clear, with winds 5 to 6 Beaufort and increasing to 7 Beaufort in the east. Temperatures range from 23 to 31 to 33 degrees Celsius, with the mercury reaching 36 in southern Crete.

East Aegean Islands, Dodecanese
Here again the weather will be clear, with a northerly wind of 4 to 6 and a northerly wind of 6 to 7 Beaufort in the afternoon. Temperature ranges from 23 to 36 degrees Celsius.

Thessaly
Thick clouds and localized showers and isolated storms are possible over the mountains during the afternoon and afternoon hours. 3 to 4 Beaufort and temperature varies from 23 to 38°C.

Attica
