Artur Soares Dias has been appointed to officiate the Conference League final at the OPAP Arena between Olympiacos and Fiorentina. The Portuguese referee booed twice in the last matches for the red and white.
Olympiacos has identified the referee who will officiate the Conference League final against Fiorentina at the OPAP Stadium after the UEFA Refereeing Committee named 44-year-old Portuguese Artur Soares Dias.
The Portuguese referee had previously booed twice in favor of the red and white team, but in favor of the Stokesman Super League and not the European competition, as part of the appointment of foreign referees in the derby.
The first match he whistled for Olympiacos was against Panathinaikos at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium. On 21 November 2020, when Piraeus won 1-0 with a goal from Fortounis.
The second match of the current season came when the derby whistle was blown against AEK at the OPAP Arena in normal time, which ended in a 1-1 draw. He also whistled two matches for Fiorentina in the Europa League, where the Viola achieved a win and a loss with him.
Portugal’s remaining matches with Greek teams
From there, Dias also officiated the 2020 Greek Cup semi-final between AEK and Aris, which Union won 2-1 and in the 2023 Panathinaikos-AIK 0-0 in the 7th round of the Super League qualifiers.
We must also not forget that Dias was the referee of the AIK – Wolfsburg 2-1 match, in the 2020 Europa League qualifiers.
