WhatsApp, the popular messaging app with over 2.5 billion active users, is making changes to improve its connection with Instagram.
It will soon bring a new feature that allows users to share status updates across both platforms.
WABetaInfo spotted the upcoming feature that builds on the previous integration with Facebook and is now expanding to Instagram by rolling out an optional content sharing feature.
WhatsApp will soon allow live updates on Stories and Instagram
The upcoming feature, which is under development, will allow users to share updates from WhatsApp directly to their Instagram Stories. This will help users save time, but will also enhance the reliability and consistency of content sharing.
In practice, users will not need to create separate posts for each platform, and will be able to interact with their audience on both platforms more easily.
Coming soon to Google Play
The feature of sharing status updates on Instagram is available in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.23.25.20 available on Google Play Store. It is still under development and will be available in a future app update.
